What if I didn’t have to work M-F 8-5?

Then I would be watching this.

Their entertaining banter is priceless.

Did you catch what happened?

Poor Regis must have ate some musical fruit for breakfast.

Speaking of attitude…

Hers is more positive than mine.

And she has cancer.

BUT the cancer does not have her.

One day I called her in attempt to cheer her up however it was the other way around.

This is what words came out from a young woman who I consider a friend:

“The bible is our medicine. You know how when you take medicine you have to take it everyday for it to work. That is the same with God’s word. It will heal if we take it in everyday.”

She sent me this card

Her faith is strong. If you are reading this please pray for Margie. It delights her to hear that people are praying for her. She is believing for the perfect outcome.

Speaking of control. I am in the process of surrendering to God many negative attitudes that fill my heart. Because I want to have a positive impact on those in my circle of influence. Note it has been a very painful process of pruning bad fruit from the vine. Chop. Chop. Ouch.

Hebrews 4:12 says-For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

I do have control of:

MY attitude

I have experienced the impact of this surrendering. I can’t change people. I can change my attitude. It is then that God works. HIS power and glory revealed to make something beautiful out of broken me.

Attitude

“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company… a church… a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past, we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one thing we have, and that is attitude… I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you… we are in charge of our own Attitudes.” ~Charles Swindoll

Our Song October 29, 2008

I think this is mine and God’s song.

Because there was this moment. A friend from the 4th grade found me on Myspace. For all these years she was wondering about my heart and praying. That seemed unreal. Yet it is not. God is real and cares about me. He has been working and moving in my life when I didn’t even know it. Wow. All I could think of was you dance over me while I am unaware, you sing all around but I never hear the sound, Lord I’m amazed by you. The song played over and over in my head that Sunday morning. I was floored to hear it sung at church by the praise band and I wept and wept. Since then God has shown me how special I am through her. Taste and see that the Lord is good. I have tasted that through my friendship with Monica. God works in mysterious ways which keep me Amazed. How about you?

Sometimes I love Walmart… sometimes.

This is random but I am excited to report the deal I got on two movies.

I love movies… all the time!

$8 total for both DVDs “Elizabethtown” and “Failure to Launch.”

Walmart was good, but Redbox was better today… $0-free Monday night rental.

It’s called “Birds of America” with Matthew Perry.

I really love free things… what a blessing.

Night night.

Do You Believe That? October 12, 2008

At my church I know a girl who sings out of the depths of her heart. She can bring people to the throne of God with her voice in zero to 60 seconds. But my favorite thing is when I hear from her, after a lyric or two, “Do you believe that?” There is a song called Blessed be Your Name. The words are from the book of Job. One day during worship as I was singing “He gives and takes away” it hit me. Am I okay with the fact God takes away? No I did not believe that it was okay God takes away. Now, there is a moment of surrender and sometimes tears when I sing the rest of the song-My heart will choose to say blessed be your name. What are the words to your song? And do you believe them from your heart? That is music to God’s ears. Even if you, like me, are not gifted with vocal talent. Below is a scene from the movie Walk the Line.

These 3 girls have been faithfully devoted to me. I love them more than words can describe. And they love me for who I am and not who I need to be. Their friendship is a gift from God.

Dear Blog Friends,

I love potty humor.

Yep, when I hear it my laughter can’t be contained.

Farting, makes me laugh.

The phrase dropping the kids off at the pool, yep. makes me laugh.

But today I read one I had never heard before: Beans, the musical fruit.

How funny.

Learning new potty humor brightens my day.

So do random facts. Like…

Louis Armstrong is said to have so loved red beans and rice that he ended
some of his personal letters with “Red beans and ricely yours.”

Mac and Cheesely Yours,

Tracie
